Invisalign

What is it
Invisalign® is a modern orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth using a series of custom-made, clear, removable aligners—offering a nearly invisible and convenient alternative to traditional braces for both teenagers and adults. Invisalign® functions similarly to fixed braces while eliminating the need for brackets, wires, and other inconveniences that come with fixed braces, such as metal braces.
For those seeking to correct misalignment, overbites, underbites, gaps, or crowded teeth, our team at the Tanglin dental clinic is here to provide more information on how Invisalign® treatment can help address your specific issue.
How does it work
These aligners move your teeth gradually, with each aligner subtly progressing in shape toward the intended treatment results.
Reasons why people choose Invisalign®
- Invisalign® aligners offer a more discreet alternative to metal braces. It allows wearers to go about their daily routines without drawing unwanted attention to their teeth straightening treatment. Aside from lingual braces, they are as close to invisible braces as you can get.
- Convenience: Invisalign aligners are optimised for patient convenience. Their removable nature allows you to eat, brush, and floss at any time. This level of convenience is not offered by other fixed braces.
- Comfort: The aligners are manufactured using a flexible medical-grade plastic material known as SmartTrack™, which makes them comfortable to wear.

What makes Invisalign® aligners different from other clear aligners?

Technology & Innovation
Founded in 1997 and with over 18 million users to date, Invisalign® aligners are backed by more data and experience than other clear aligners.
Simple to complex cases
While some other clear aligner brands treat simpler cases, Invisalign® can treat moderate to complex cases. The algorithm designed for Invisalign® calculates the necessary force for every tooth movement. With correct input from your doctor, it ensures every tooth moves in the right order and at the right time.
Features
The Invisalign® clear aligners are made out of a special patented SmartTrack® material. This material aids in gently but rapidly moving your teeth.
Another unique feature of Invisalign® is its SmartForce® attachments. They allow for complex tooth movement without the assistance of braces.
In-clinic option
You will be closely monitored by our doctors at the Tanglin dental clinic throughout the treatment to ensure that you achieve the perfect smile.
When should you consider getting Invisalign®?
If you have noticed a gap in your smile, or maybe set of teeth are crooked, you may want to visit your dentist. Teeth movement or shifting can be a problem that affects people of all ages. There are many causes to teeth movement such as periodontal (gum) conditions, grinding your teeth, or if you wore braces when you were younger and haven’t been consistent with your retainers, your teeth may have shifted back to their original positions.
if you would like to correct your bite, straighten crooked teeth or improve your smile, schedule an appointment with us to determine whether Invisalign® is the appropriate orthodontic treatment for you.

How much does Invisalign® cost in Singapore
Invisalign® treatment costs are largely determined by the number of aligners the treatment is anticipated to take. Depending on the orthodontic issue that needs addressing, the cost could range from approximately $2500.00 for a simple single-arch treatment to a more complex procedure for $8925.00. There is also an additional fee for the retainers.

Over 18 million patients, including more than 5 million teenagers, worldwide have sought Invisalign® treatment, and the numbers are growing every day. In the Asia Pacific region alone, there are more than 1 million Invisalign® smiles as of 2020.
2. What type of orthodontic conditions can Invisalign® aligners treat?
- Crowded Teeth
- Gap Teeth
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Deep Bite
- Crossbite
3. How do you identify Invisalign® aligners apart from the rest of the clear aligners available in the market?
Invisalign® aligners look similar to clear retainers, teeth-whitening trays and mouth guards.
However, the materials in the Invisalign® aligners are not as hard and are much more comfortable to wear. A series of Invisalign® aligners are custom-made for you, and each aligner will contain the patient identification number (PID number) and the Invisalign® logo, which looks like a flower.
4. How does the Invisalign® treatment work?
Once it is decided that Invisalign® is a suitable treatment option for your dental concerns, the doctor will begin the process for your treatment. He will make records of your dental condition via photos, X-rays, and 3D scans of your teeth. These records will be used to design custom-made Invisalign® alingers. The digital 3D treatment plan will also reflect the final tooth position at the end of the treatment.
After its production, your custom-made aligners will be shipped to your doctor at our clinic.
The doctor will then give you your series of aligners, typically a few sets at a time. You will replace each Invisalign® aligner set every 7 days or so until the desired position of your teeth is reached.
5. What are the advantages of the Invisalign® clear aligner treatment?
- Comfort: Invisalign® aligners are comfortable and virtually invisible. The brackets and wires that are present in metal braces and invisible braces that irritate your gums or the inside of your teeth are not present in Invisalign®. Additionally, people would not realise you are undergoing an orthodontic treatment.
- No food restrictions: You can remove your Invisalign® aligners when you need to eat. Unlike fixed braces, you will not need to avoid hard, sticky, or chewy food when you are on Invisalign® treatment.
- Easier to maintain oral hygiene: Invisalign® aligners are removable, so it is easier to clean your teeth and maintain oral hygiene during treatment.
- Potentially fewer doctor visits: Invisalign® treatments typically requires fewer doctor visits compared to fixed braces. With fixed braces, you will need to visit the doctor every month to tighten and adjust your wires and brackets.
6. How much does Invisalign® cost?
The cost varies depending on the condition and complexity of your case. At Dental Essence, we recommend you come in for a consultation to speak to our dentist to assess your suitability. Typically, Invisalign® treatments cost up to $8,925 for comprehensive cases. In-house flexible payment plans are available. Make an enquiry with us to find out more.
7. Do I need to wear my aligners all day?
Yes, you will need to wear your Invisalign® aligners for 20–22 hours a day. Your compliance is important in achieving the desired results at the end of your treatment.
8. Will wearing Invisalign® aligners affect my speech?
Like any other orthodontic treatment, Invisalign® aligners may affect your speech for the first few days of your treatment. Your doctor will advise you accordingly, as this may differ from patient to patient.
9. Do I have to extract my teeth if I choose Invisalign® treatment?
Depending on the condition and complexity of your current dentition, your doctor will inform you if extraction is required to make more space for tooth movement. This information will be offered to you before you start your treatment. Depending on how comfortable you are with the procedure, you can choose whether or not to proceed further.
